See a community bank at work.
This walkthrough follows Maplewood Neighbors, a live demo community on barter.game — a neighborhood skill share where members trade hours. Every screen below is real; you can explore the live community yourself.
Every community gets a public page.
The organizer customizes the headline, story, onboarding text, and colors. This page is what members see first — it introduces the community and links to its bank.
Members join themselves.
No invites to manage and no personal data to collect: a member opens the bank, picks a handle, chooses a password, and gets their own cryptographic keys. The bank runs in the browser — members can also install it on their phone's home screen.
The community issues its own currency.
Maplewood trades in hours: one hour of help earns one hour of credit. A voucher is a signed promise issued by the community — hours, tool loans, home-grown tomatoes; your community decides what counts.
Members trade, and the ledger remembers.
Boris fixes Ada's fence; Ada's balance goes up, Boris's goes down, and both can see the signed record. Offers and requests are posted to the community, so help finds the people who need it.
